One time the other chef at the restaurant I worked at invited his childhood friend to bring his family for dinner. We had an open kitchen so you could see every guest in the dining room. The friends dad came wearing a MAGA hat. You know, in a typical embarassing dad fashion. Like, who goes to a nice restaurant (mind you, this isn't Starbucks or Cheesecake Factory) wearing a MAGA hat? My coworker was super embarrassed and of course all the employees were chit chatting and laughing at the guy amongst themselves, like " why is this dude wearing a MAGA hat in South Beach, what the hell is wrong with him etc." But it didn't even cross anybody's mind to hassle him about it. Why harass your guest, who has not done anything wrong other than offend your delicate sensibilities with his attire choices? That's the epitomy of unprofessionalism. I get it, the hat represents an ideology you oppose, but you're not there to judge the patrons' beliefs. Not only that, but you ruin the establishment's reputation by confronting guests like that, that's not good business. I guess some people don't think like that.
