Wii has lots of 3rd party exclusives... but only maybe like 10 of them are any good.

I think probably a more realistic result would be seeing switch-first games or more cross platform stuff that doesn’t make it to the X1. I’m guessing a lot of the reason PS4 has many of the Japanese exclusives is because Xbox is a dead brand in Japan. I’m guessing you will see some of those games be released day and date with switch versions going forward. I’m not sure why a company would limit themselves to just one platform unless it was something that wouldn’t work well on switch or the mobility/joycon is a key part of the concept.

IMO switch already has basically the best 3rd party support on a Nintendo console since GameCube. Wii had a ton of games but the vast majority of the non-Nintendo stuff was utter trash. I really liked Mad World though.

Switch has a shit ton of indi titles to make up for the lack of big third party games, unlike the Wii. The Wii had indies too, but not of the same caliber and of the same abundance. Not to mention Switch has a more compatible architecture with the other consoles than Wii did with PS360, it stands to reason that some third party publishers are just a little late to the game on Switch's success and are playing catch up and we'll be seeing some bigger releases soon.

I doubt it from a western publisher perspective to be honest. The ship has long sailed on that. I can see some more japanese third party games considering it's selling very well over there, though.

Bethesda is happy with how their ports did, I think we'll continue to see them support it. FIFA 19 is pretty much guaranteed. We'll see something from Ubisoft, who traditionally always threw Nintendo some bones even during the darkness of the Wii U days, will publish some more games. I mean, with how abysmal 3rd party been in the past, it isn't hard to outdo that.
