I don't understand, why didn't a company with a market cap of 152 billion dollars produce a cinematic masterpiece instead of a middling installment in a cash cow franchise they recently acquired that is over 50 years old?

There are a lot of companies that at least take a couple of risks with movies. Disney is the factory of movies and the only extremely calculated risk they took was putting an SJW in charge of Star Wars to attract more women viewers. Instead they drove everyone away (as expected) because these morons can't create realistic characters to save their lives since realism directly contradicts with their politics.

For example, if they create a STRONG WAMEN character that is actually realistic and relatable the rest of their cult will condemn them to twitter Gulag because they dared to make a character with flaws or, you know, female characteristics. So instead they create these bland and completely unrealistic female characters that not even normal women like or care about.

I was actually never a fan but at least the original trilogy had a story and characters that were interesting, it wasn't this generic product you just watch and forget the next day. Just because I explained the logic behind making the new protagonist completely bland doesn't mean I don't like female characters, I don't give a flying fuck if there's a female lead as long as she's not the usual Mary Sue these 'tards usually write. I fucking loved Arrival for example because it had a well-written character, one of the very few Hollywood movies lately that have a good female character actually which is a direct result of these idiots trying to push their agenda.

Asking for good movies with interesting, realistic characters regardless of sex, surprisingly, doesn't mean you're a fucking incel.

Ever since I got my 11 year old hands on the Nightmare on Elm Street VHS I’ve had to sleep with a night light. Waking up from a nightmare in total darkness or experiencing sleep paralysis was just too much and so each night I turn on a small lamp.

I wish I could sleep in darkness as I think I would get better quality sleep. It’s 2am here at the moment and my body is showing no signs of wanting to sleep.

Anecdote to reinforce your post: very likely the best sleep I've ever had was on my Kilimanjaro summit trek in 2016. Wake at sunrise, straight exercise until sunset, fresh air out in nature (the low oxygen wasn't a big deal as far as sleep was concerned, presumably because we were all on Acetazolamide), everyone had tentmates so we weren't leaving lights on after hours,  no screens or artificial lighting except for about an hour with my Kindle if I couldn't sleep right away, and caffeine in the morning only.  I was still getting over the flu at the time and did the whole thing last second without any prep straight from being bedridden (much to my body's dismay lol) but it still stands out as an amazing few nights of blissful rest that had me feeling almost superhuman by day four or so despite the circumstances.
