I wouldn't discard that the ban may be genuine. With so many mods there's probably at least a couple who may be annoyed at the admin's troll pet thing. I'm also not convinced the name change was supposed to be stealthy, "if sleepovers could talk" seemed an obvious joke on swidge supposed protection.

Still, in effect, it would probably lead to the scenario you underlined.

When you think about people like swidge potentially having an ever-changing woke persona and just one day disappearing and coming back under a new name and no one the wiser...doesn't that apply to 99% of reset?  I guess if not for what people remember of their history from gaf, or the BCT, etc.

Everybody's replaceable, swap them out for someone else willing to screech the same things

I guess it's fear of doxxing combined with being an extremely unwelcoming place that leads no one to ever share anything personal or try to build a relationship

Never build a friendship at reset, it might be an alt-right troll trying to turn you to the dark side, or it might be someone who you find out holds a single problematic view
