I just went on a date recently and realized that french kissing is probably one of the hardest and dumbest things we can do. It's hard to make the mouths align, it's hard to know when it's coming, it's impossible to use your tongue correctly if you are nervous and it has no reason to exist. Why don't we just touch lips and call it a day? I ended up going home later because I failed that so hard.

When did that become the default way of kissing worldwide? I'm very curious to know, because apparently everyone learns it in their teens, and I'm still struggling. It only makes dating harder.

Even the online tutorials are like 4 minutes long.

Like, what the heck? All that just to create a level of intimacy that precedes sex but doesn't actually mean anything? This is bullshit.

User Banned (Duration Pending): Transphobia. History of similar behaviour.

The people who are most aggressive in pushing for the demedicalization of trans conditions (the non-dysphoric non-binaries) are not concerned about this scenario from my experience because 1) they themselves do not feel any distress over their bodies and are almost never pursuing medical intervention , and 2) they don't believe physical dysphoria even exists and simply want to chalk up all the pain and distress trans people feel to societal bigotry.


But yes it's a huge issue. The more you try and demedicalize being Trans the more you make it increasingly difficult for Trans people who are in a tremendous, often life-threatening amount of pain to get the help and treatment that they desperately need, or even be taken seriously for that matter. I have to self-med because finding a doctor that is competent and non-hostile is pretty much impossible in my area. Its even worse for trans youths who often dont have that option and are just stuck completely without care as they are forced to watch their bodies irreversibly change and develop in ways that cause them an incredible amount of pain and distress, often driving many to the point of suicide.

Are you really going to imply that physical dysphoria doesn't exist? That the incredible pain countless trans men and women feel everyday due to their bodies is not real? That's far more offensive than what the other poster said.

Being trans is a condition for many people that requires medical intervention. Lack of medical care to treat dysphoria can and often be legitimately life threatening. The more people try to demedicalize being Trans the harder they make it for people to be taken seriously when seeking care.

I am so fucking sick of hearing this. Physical dysphoria exists, and it is incredibly crippling. It is just as real and just as damaging as transphobia and I am so fucking sick of people like you and others trying to downplay it.

You pretty much said "oh dysphoria isn't really a big deal its mostly just transphobia that's the problem!"

Which is fucking bullshit. I have gone to bed every night wishing that I wouldn't wake up the next morning since age 16 because of the pain of living with dysphoria, and a magical world where trans people were 100% accepted by society wouldn't change that at all. Trans teens kill themselves all the time due to being forced to watch their bodies change in ways that are horrifying and repulsive to them. Stop erasing and invalidating the experiences of dysphoric trans people because you don't like what some text in a medical document says.

Long story short, I interrupted the girl's ramblings after about 10 minutes of peeking over and seeing him still locked in my direction. She said that he was probably looking at the TV at the other end of the bar, which ended up being right. However, the TV was 1) located at an extremely far distance from his position, making his viewing area un-optimal, and 2) it was disturbing my privacy. In other words: UN-FUCKING-ACCEPTABLE.

Now, the whole making a good first impression on the girl thing was on my mind the whole time, so I waited until she went to the bathroom to say something. This is how it played out, more or less. Keep in mind that I was essentially yelling due to our proximity to each other.
