I honestly don't understand how people can like CinemaSins' output.They can't decide if they want to be taken seriously or if they're just being silly, and hide behind whichever is most convenient based on the general audience reaction to the film and their video. The internet, Youtube especially, is rife with people picking over every tiny detail of movies to point out all the things it did "wrong" instead of watching a movie and just enjoying it or not enjoying it based on the product as a whole. Feels like it has bred a generation of cynics.

They clearly optimize for the algorithm and favor quality over quantity and go for the cheapest possible critique of films. Their popularity normalizes and perpetuates lazy film criticism and appeals to people’s worst instincts. It’s akin to shooting handheld footage of bum fights and labeling it a martial arts tournament, then hiding behind the shield of “its satire.”

The reason Black Panther got rated so highly is because it’s the rare comic book film that actually had a message that it spoke with conviction. It wasn’t just a story of a superhero or a king or a brother or a son. It had something to say and it wasn’t afraid to just come out and say it. That’s what makes it special in the world of comic book movies.

This is really the only time I'm going to post here, because I do believe the accusations against Evilore, and I do feel that this forum's community is really going down the toilet. But, I do want to clarify a few things on this to you and others who might be getting the wrong idea.You seem to have it in your head the admins and mods of resetera are sitting there gleefully banning people left and right, when what actually happens in a case like this, is that everyone is upset that she had to be banned. No one is happy that someone who is hurting and lashing out has to be removed from the community, but sometimes that is the case. And trust me when I say that no one was ignoring her that entire time. I talked with her quite a bit, as did a lot of the trans community, including staff from that site. No one was ignoring her, but at a certain point, you do need to learn when to let go and move on from people who are self-destructive like that. While we want the best for everyone who is reaching out for help, there's only so much that we can do as internet strangers, and a lot of the realities of fixing those views have to come from within. That's something that I personally struggle with, but we're not professionals and we have to learn to accept that we can't help everyone out there.And just because someone is posting in the mental health thread does not give them a free pass to go around insulting other users of the forum, and that wouldn't fly here as well. And its very possible for someone who is transgender to be transphobic. As for the help that she's getting right now specifically, I talked with her slightly after her ban, and she has other communities that she prefers to be a part of. She's not completely shut off, and she's always free to reach out to me and a few other people as well. Unless you presume that colleges are now going to reject black and Hispanic students from their colleges, there isn't anything wrong with this. Colleges are still going to make it a point to try and get as many minorities as possible because it's a good way to get donations and avoid controversies. It's good that now the government isn't encouraging this. Hopefully now, quotas aren't gonna be set at colleges as they play this little game of getting a child from every race into their halls.
