The Overton Window isn't really like a window or doorway or whatever, it's more like a room.  The way everyone is using it requires a definition of "right" and "left" which nobody ever provides and Overton (yeah, it was a dude) never described it in the way anyone would accept as the "left" and the "right" except for people like me. Glenn Beck made this same mistake before he actually read about it.

if they had read farther the Thomas Sowell citation would have given away the argument...assuming they know anything about him, even negative things said about him will do, they don't need to actually read his work

i do disagree about it being a bad paper though, purely from the writer being an undergrad standpoint and not weighting my agreement or disagreement with his conclusion, but then...i've read undergrad papers before...and grad papers...and published papers
