I respectfully disagree. In the context of sports, “I’ll kill you” is not really taken literally. I have an Ump friend who gets it a lot. To be clear though, she deserved the penalty. But I get the feeling that it’s because of the color of her skin, that the threat of violence is taken more seriously than her peers. (They were talking suspensions and fines)

The same is true here. Sure, by the letter of the law, the ump was not incorrect for penalizing her for verbal abuse. The question is whether he would have done so if not for implicit bias. I think given that the verbal abuse was, imo, not egregious when compared to other athletes cussing at refs and coming away unpenalized, the answer to that question is debatable.

Do you have any example of the bolded? Because while a few people have tried to post random tweets as examples, all they've shown so far is that this umpire in particular handed out penalties for much less (see Djorkovic, for example). But because these athletes knew to not escalate after their first violation, nothing happened in the end. That's not the same as "coming away unpenalised".
 

Sure. I'm going to quote myself from what I found earlier after a very quick google search. In the second link below, Fed wasn't issued a warning in the match, but was fined after the match. That doesn't change the fact that he was unpenalized during the match. If you're asking for this specific umpire acting differently, that will obviously be very hard to find.

Of course I am. Different umpires may handle situations differently. As long as they're consistent, I don't see any problem. And from all video evidence gathered in this thread, Ramos really is consistent, so I really fail to see any evidence that he's biased. I mean, you said yourself he could be biased, but that of course requires evidence from said umpire.

This is an incredibly difficult and specific burden of proof to prove implicit bias. It's not reasonable. Can you find two other examples of Ramos penalizing someone a game?
