You can tell that they're Americans in that thread. "What about when there's an increase in the elderly population? That will be horrible". Yeah, maybe in the US, but Japan actually provides economic and social support for the elderly, and they're treated with respect culturally.

There's very real issues at the national level in every developed country because of the population aging, mostly possible failure of revenue redistribution systems (though it's only one of the causes alongside mass unemployment, automation, wages stalling in the first world...), regardless of the supposed respect elders get in their culture. Those threads on GAFERA are a bit of a mess because they are all over the place and mesh worldwide and national issues plus are for some an excuse to stump on whatever pet peeve they have with stereotypical Japanese culture, which are more or less pertinent to the discussion.

That works if the economy is enough to keep the social safety nets afloat despite the increased consumption that comes with elderly care. It's expensive as hell to take care of increased amounts of people that not only don't contribute to the society economically but need special attention for a good quality of life. I don't know about Japan but it's probably going to crack here at some point despite low income inequality and high progressive taxes to fund this type of stuff if we wish to have a balanced budget.

Releasing a game where electing Hitler to power wins you the game is incredibly tone deaf, even back in 2015... Especially since nothing about Hitler would be integral to the game (you could insert a ton of other cultural references that aren't absolute abominations and keep the gameplay the same).

If Hitler was always seen as the evil in the game and no one (or maybe even just one person since everyone else would lose) would win if they win that would almost make it better... But yeah, I don't care if anyone has fun playing it... It's still a pretty gross concept for a game and just another small thing that dilutes how unimaginably awful Hitler and Nazis were.
