Well the police seemed to treat the 'persons of interest' as if they had already discounted them as suspects. Which I guess was why Smollett decided to make the claims that they were the attackers and in fact had no doubt about it.

Exactly how the two brothers fit into it is strange in hindsight. Because it seems the police suspected it of being a hoax right from the start. And part of that suspicion, as it was for many others, was the lack of footage of the attack. Of course that was along with other things. They reviewed hundreds of hours of footage, and supposedly nothing. And that is really weird if the intention was for them to stage an attack in front of a camera. It is seriously like 'karma is a bitch' with that one.

For example, alot of posters here claim to be neutral and want "facts" to make the case.

So anybody that needs details to be convinced would be immediately more through in finding the truth.

The biggest fallacy I tend to see online is this notion that independents are some great bastion of neutrality and don't have any personal bias within themselves.

To relate this back to your example, if someone showed a person this Jessie case as a way to persuade them, the first actual action of a true independent (and someone who wants the full story) would be to research how many false claims of hate crimes actually happen/reported and even make an attempt to check this amount to how many actual hate crimes take place.

But that's not what happens, does it? People latch on to the first bit of news that can validate their already conceived worldview.

Alot of people claim to be wanting the truth and will only dig as far as it supports their theory.


That's why I can't buy into things being used as ammo, it's highly more likely that people had trash ideas in the first place. People like that dont want truth... They just want someone to tell them what they already think to feel validated.

You know, I find this sort of stuff almost offensive when it comes from the mouths of RE members. We're told when police raided the home of the 2 brothers they found magazines with pages torn out, and authorities are now trying to determine if the missing pages are connected to the threatening letter that was sent to Jussie 8 days before the alleged attack.

We're told the way they tracked the 2 brothers down was by their movements in arriving and leaving the scene around Jussie's apartment building. As we reported, they left in either a cab or an Uber, but we're told cops tracked the vehicle and the 2 brothers got out on their way home and into another vehicle. As one source put it, "It was almost like a bad spy movie."

 

The sources say there were red flags from the get-go. Cops were extremely suspicious when Jussie took them out to the area where he said he was attacked and pointed to an obscure camera saying how happy he was that the attack was on video. Turns out the camera was pointing in the wrong direction. Cops thought it was weird he knew the location of that camera.
