The Bernie hate is strange ERA thing. Outside of this place, people love him.

Bernie finished almost fifty percent behind Biden in dem candidate polling. A small, vocal part of his support is destructive and relishes attacking other candidates and spent the entire general election tearing down Hillary and even supporting Donald Trump. Bernie networks were also a potent vector for Russian and right wing trolling and conspiracy mongering. Bernie continues to make clumsy and inarticulate statements on race and guns and more - but more troubling than Bernie's serious negatives and weaknesses is his deliberate refusal to either address the destructive and irrational part of his base or to support the candidate who beats him in the primary. He's not "loved" outside of this place, he's a distant also ran behind Biden and I suspect new polling will expose that further.

If by some miracle he wins the primary it will be in part because he's released his taxes, acknowledged his campaign and support was seriously hijacked and then I'll vote for him. But he won't so it's likely moot.

But then the 2000 Election happened. And "red states" and "blue states" were forever embedded into the discourse based on that year in which almost all the media had W. Bush and the Republicans represented by red and Gore and the Democrats by blue.
