Bernie Sanders was born in 1941. The idea that he's enjoyed white supremacy for his entire life is absurd. The man lost relatives during the Holocaust in his lifetime. And even here in the US the "whiteness" of Jews is a recent thing, and the question isn't totally settled (look at the rise of alt-right antisemitism in the US, and the West in general!).

So to me, painting a Jewish candidate as "white", and then declaring that makes them un-electable, is incredibly tone-deaf and simplistic at best. And I say that as a black man.

Plus it's not up to the candidate. If Trump announced he was running as an independent in 2020, I guarantee you the Republican Party would still nominate him.

There have been Governors and even sometimes Senators endorsed by both parties. Sanders himself is for all purposes usually endorsed or often effectively even nominated by the Vermont Democratic Party for example. Hell, the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee doesn't usually endorse against him or Angus King or etc.
