Youth unemployment is skyrocketing in Spain. The Spanish are moving towards Germany to work.

Still, nurses are in demand. However, it is one of those jobs that in Europe 'you don't do for the money'. Unless you are a doctor, dentist or work on an ambulance crew or something.
The pay is quite shitty and so are the working conditions in nursing homes and hospitals and such. But Europe has some social safety nets.
So you might not be able to buy a house or something but get housing subsidies from the government to pay for your rent.

In Europe a lot of stuff is provided for and taken care of by the governments still. Some people find that less stressful.

If their educations are valid in EU that is, i know that one of my exes had to redo much of her dental-degree when she came to Sweden so i'm guessing nursing might be similar.

I don't know about the US, but in Canada they are paid well. My ex was making $35 an hour straight out of school plus a premium for doing long shifts and with basically as much OT as she wanted. On top of that, she gets 3 massages a week completely covered as well as all prescriptions. Last year her mother died and she had a breakdown and has been on disability ever since, getting paid the whole time. Basically impossible to get fired.

No, because then they'd have to pay all nurses the same and Sweden would instantly go bankrupt. Most of them are employed by the county, private sector nurses make a little more i'd wager.

That said, the dearth of nurses has led to the salaries being much improved. It's just still kinda shit compared to the level of education needed.

That person's attitude was extremely antagonistic towards other posters knowing full well that if anyone engages they would most likely get banned. Bernie proxy on MSNBC right now and he's dancing around very simple questions in a really aggravating way. If Bernie fans want a distillation of why his behavior after Hillary got the nom CONTINUES to be really, really troubling, it's this - and I hope for everyone's sake that he's not doubling down, but this is the OFFICIAL behavior of his campaign, as this morning, 2019:

1. Do you think Bernie Sanders lost to Hillary by three million primary votes because she stole it?
"No, but blah blah subject change"

2. Will he at least address this? Will he at least talk to all his supporters and make that clear? That Hillary didn't steal the election last time?
"Well we're not relitigating blah blah blah"

3. Why does Bernie continue to downplay Russian tampering in the general election?
"Something something economic anxiety something something change subject"

Here's what Bernie needs for me to support him again:

1. Admit Hillary and the deep state didn't steal his shot and tell that directly and crisply and frequently to his supporters. He doesn't have to be happy about the intitutional bariers he faced. He's not a democrat. He doesn't have to toe a parfty line. Just tell the truth and discourage the falsehood and conspiracy that STILL poisons his base.
2. Deal honestly with the influence bad actors and money had on his primary run and worse, after the primary when his organization was brigaded by Trumpets, Russian troll farms, well-dicumented Facebook movements, actual fake news and self-generated conspiracy theories that were loudly and damagingly ratched up. A SIGNIFICANT number of otherwise rational Bernie supporters, spent months tearing down the democratic candidate and ignoring and supporting Trump.
3. Promise that regardless of who wins the fair outcome of the Primary - he will guide his supporters and his own words and actions, to support the winning candidate against either Trump or the GOP nominee in 2020.
4. Release his taxes now - or find a way to document a true and full financial disclosure. Not later. Not in October 2020 as an oppo drop. This one shouldn't be negotiable for ANYONE let alone a movement that objects to corporate and anonymous money or influence in politics. If there's something bad in there, get it out in sunlight NOW. And if it's so bad he can't reveal it, then he's disqualified anyway. And stop lying about it - several times he's claimed he HAS released his taxes. False, he released two pages of just his 2014 Fed and State statements that showed almost nothing useful and omitted the vast majority of his fanancial activity. Literally identical to Trump's own ridiculous leak of his one page of quasi normal tax situation on Maddow's infamous "Al Capone vault."


That's it. None of those things should be controversial or difficult. I'm not asking him to grovel or prostrate himself before a mob of pantsuits. Asking him to do four things he should already have done. Asking him to do four things any rational supporter should ask. I also think he has some work to do on gun control issues and race relations - but he can deal with those via policy and no candidate is going to be perfect on every item.

Bibi is a disgraceful demagogue who will do anything to retain power but Israel doesn't currently seem like its democracy is endangered by the specter of a dictatorship or "constitutional" crisis - but a few years of a nakedly racist coalition leadership with a limitless supply of small and large real and imaginary "enemies" could conceivably lead to the erosion of constitutional norms in the predictable pattern of "unprecedented existential danger from internal /external villain " And boom there's your excuse to start small with term limits changes.

People forget that BenGurion eschewed a proper written constitution for three reasons - first and foremost a capitulation to orthodox and other religious forces rejecting the "danger" of a secular constitution, political pragmatism (a constitution would almost by default pick a compromise tone and position which would have been far too liberal in his and others' view, for a young country) and finally - they were building a country on the fly in a dangerous neighborhood and a world unsettled by recent and traumatic global conflict and so Israel had to be "nimble." Lots of countries get by without a proper modern constitution - but nothing forces you to appear moral like writing down all the rules for who you claim you're going to be.

I suspect that we'll see that the coalition of leadership and the coalesence of rules and norms that stand for a sort of defacto constitution - will be sorely tested by this man and his addiction to graft and power.

It's very hard to get a feel for what normal people on the street think about Bibi and his shitshow.
