The dude excuses the KKK, David Duke, and #both sides the Charleston terrorist attack led by a white supremacist. Despite operating on a platform of national security, intelligence agencies say there is a massive uptick in terrorist acts made by conservatives. Conservative terrorism is currently the biggest security threat to the nation.

Trump has suggested violence and political violence repeatedly at his rallies yet people are like,”the left is scared of something that’s not there and Trump has nothing to do with it.” It’s like everyone is on crazy pills.

The reasoning that Trump hasn’t created a rise in hate crime is kind of crazy given we have actual maga supporters doing acts of extreme violence. That’s not to say Trump is the sole cause of this. You’re right. Hate crime existed before him. But you’d have to be delusional to think his rhetoric hasn’t played a part.

Again, not to say there isn't anything to be critical of Trump about. It is more what exactly are we saying the reality is right now in America?  Are all Trump supporters racist bigots that are going around lynching black people? It is not about whether these people exist, it is whether this is so prevelant that you are almost expecting a lynching by a 'Trump supporter'. And that it is all linked to Trump.

Exactly how many hate crimes can directly be linked to Trump or his rhetoric for instance? All hate crimes are individual cases.

The reason the left jumped wasn't necessarily because hate crimes directly linked to Trump are prevelant, it is simply that they could pin it on Trump.

There was division before he was president. No one is blaming Trump for that. He has however taken that division and widened it by using extremely racialized language.

That's a fair point. The point I am really making is that there is a level of hysteria around Trump which isn't helpful either. I think that contributes to a racially tense environment also. Exaggerating reality isn't the best way to solve issues either. Ultimately, despite there being hate crime, where in terms of race blacks are more affected, and terms of religion Jews are more affected (not muslims) America is still a fairly tolerant society. And I think losing sight of that and stoking the flames of racial division would be a dangerous game to play also.

He also signed a false name on the promise to appear in court. Smollett also was later charged with false impersonation, driving under the influence and driving without a valid license.

They're right though.
A case should be tried in the courts and based on evidence, not in the press based on who has the best story.

But then he was the one giving unsworn testimony on national television while the police were continuing to firefight rumours saying on the record that he was a victim and that they were investigating the alleged crime.
The fact it is going to be impossible to find an untainted jury who do not already have a preconception about the case walking in is primarily on him and nobody else, by forcing the issue into the court of public opinion. the police statement regarding their investigation is a rebuttal to the claims he put forward of his own volition to GMA, not an attempt to poison the well pre-trial.

I think more than being a danger to the credibility of victims in the future, Jussie is currently a danger to the willingness of victims to come forward to continue to fight in court for justice. It's hard enough for victims to go public, it must be excruciatingly difficult in the wake of such a high profile hoax.

To some extent, yes, there is going to be a Boy Who Cried Wolf chilling effect. But the vast majority of crimes happen to people by people that they know; random attacks of any sort by complete strangers are still rare.
Its the knowledge that someone they know has committed a crime that is often the biggest obstacle to crimes being reported, not a fear that the crime itself will not be believed in and of itself.

For all the chest beating puffery of "But they lied about our side and tried to make us look bad" / "Now the other side have something they can hold over us", the actual shitty thing he is directly responsible for is some victim of a crime during the course of the investigation got a half assed service and were treated as a low priority because Mr Celebrity Newsworthy Crime was sucking up all of the resources.

I agree with you on this trailer, looks like those shitty loud horror games that were popular a couple of years ago (and seem to be slowly going away now).
The P.T. demo itself was cool and more in tone with Silent Hill, but that trailer and all the garbage first person indie games it spawned were anything but.
Also i blame RE7 being first person on it, though maybe that was more because of Twitch, Outlast and all that.

Also, Lost in Vivo was the best Silent Hill copycat since Silent Hill 4, i'd rather that guy did another SH, than Kojima or DelToro.
