Unfortunately this is a difficult place for me to develop a clear moral stance on. People have their careers on YT and so their livelihood depends on YT's existence, but YT itself is such an awful vector of misinformation that I don't think these careers outweigh the importance of cutting YT down to size, just as many jobs and livelihoods are dependent on the existence of socially harmful industries. I don't want to send anyone to the poorhouse considering the vast majority of YT careers are middle class-ish in my estimation.

It would be easier if we had UBI or at least Universal Single Payer. Maybe nationalize YT is the answer.

We just need Universal Basic Income or a Dem Triforce to solve this issue. It's literally that easy.

And as pointed above it certainly feels like you'll easily get recommendations for "politically incorrect pundits" provided you watch anything with some controversial political or social commentary, if only by virtue or pairing more videos with the same keywords in titles / subject matter. It wouldn't be a surprise the algorithms on Youtube are leaning on feeding you confirmation bias and / or polarising contents, without any "nefarious" motives by the platform.
