It wouldn't be a surprise the algorithms on Youtube are leaning on feeding you confirmation bias and / or polarising contents, without any "nefarious" motives by the platform.
Didn't they basically say that thats exactly what happens, because people watch videos that they nod along to going "uh huh, yep, you got it" completely through to the end, rather than ragequitting midway through because they don;t like what they're watching?
I know I was watching some video about the Mandala Effect that I just went "Oh wow, you guys are just fucking idiots" pretty soon into when they were saying shit like "Hey, do you remember at school they told you about Neil Armstrong? But now it turns out more than one person has been to the moon? MANDALA EFFECT! Hey, did you used to think that the heart is on the left side of your body, but now they say its in the middle? Do you think thats like, the Mandala Effect changing our biology???"
