Someone going through another poster's personal information (even if publicly available) is creepy at best, and the attempts to paint liking Lyn's character in a pedophilic light and one off avatar quotes as a gotcha is sad. Being real,  IRL photos of CP is something genuinely vile and has more ramifications than just “normalization” (like perpetuating real child trafficking). Criminalizing this is absolutely necessary by the simple fact that some kid got hurt and traumatized for life in making this stuff.

Yeah, thats why I didn't equivocate in the slightest by calling it photos of victims, because thats what it is. But as distasteful as I find that 1000 year old dragon shit, its probably the 'safest' outlet for people with those kind of urges, assuming they have those urges anyway.
Normalising that shit is a different argument, and I'm not familiar enough with any research as to whether people with those urges are emboldened by access to material that fulfills them, or are sated by it, and its the kind of research I suspect isn't a huge priority for funding.
