Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse?

I’ve thought about it, and I think somewhere really cold would be the best.

Walking dead (the comic not the boring tv show) had zombies freeze and unthaw in one issue, and that seems to make sense to me since they are dead. I feel like the most zombie free lifestyle would absolutely be somewhere  cold as fuck. They’d freeze up in the winter and you could thin out the population for spring.

Assuming the zombies are the shambling, actually dead and already rotting type, scavengers would take care of them pretty fast. Until then, aim for the knees? You'd have to survive for only a week or so until mother nature recycles them all or at least renders them immobile.

I'd be much more worried about political upheaval.

I never understood how the zombies in movies are barely stumbling around, but have tremendous upper body and grip strength. Should be pretty easy to just tip them over, right? Do zombies skip leg day, or what?

Loot a hardware store and build a giant fucking treehouse near a fruit orchard. Build in strategic points to shoot bullets are still-living passerbys who try to steal my orchard harvest without asking. You'd have to build in a fire suppression system too, since someone might get the clever idea to burn the treehouse down. You can probably accomplish this by relying on stones, composite materials and a rainwater catch system to use as extinguishing water.

Eventually this simple fortified treehouse will become a treetop village as you take in survivors, so hooks for expansion is a must.

I used to live on a week2 era military base as a kid that had rows and rows of bunkers in case the Japs invaded.

Also the book is about 1000x better than the show and I don’t understand how people can stomach that shit. The pacing is just so slow... or was, 3 seasons ago when I last watched it.
