I just tried it out for the first time this weekend. It’s fine I guess?

Really missed an opportunity by not calling the cosmetics Fortskins.

I played it for an hour and I don’t like it at all. My oldest kid plays it all the time.

The building is really lame. Better building and some destruction physics would really make it better

It's fun with friends! The only few things I don't like about it is that there is no first-person view, and the whole "jump and shoot" mechanic. Makes it harder to git gud. Building is a good concept but I don't *really* wanna put time into learning how to be fast enough, which sucks because that's pretty much the entire end-game. Watching how fast people are when there are like 5 people left makes me feel stressed out. :doge

I would play it if it didn't have the building element.

The building aspect is definitely tough to get the hang of. It seems pretty much impossible until you rebind the stairs, floor, and walls to keys more accessible than the f keys. I totally agree about the the lack of ADS, very difficult to adjust to not having it after the time spent in PUBG.

I'm willing to give the genre a chance when something other than unfinished janky crap or F2P nonsense comes along.

I've played it twice. I like its game style, as I prefer cartoony shit to representational for my violencefests. I died so quickly, it doesn't really count as giving it a fair shake.

My son has played it a bunch, and has taken 1st Place/Chicken Dinner several times now.

I think it'll be a while til a dedicated BR game that's both less glitchy than PUBG and more refined than Fortnite comes along. I'm sure within the year we'll see BR mode shoehorned into various AAA titles, but I think these two have the market cornered until someone takes the time to build something solid and actually finish it before releasing it. For now I think we're gonna see a lot more hail-mary shit like Radical heights tho

The only AAA studio I can see really taking this and finding success is Ubisoft. Like half their popular games rn already seem to have a lot of the infrastructure in place (giant world/map, microtransactions, customization). Wouldn't be surprised to see an Ubi entry by summer from Division devs or something.

The Divison already has a "Battle Royale" sort-of mode, it's called: Survival. :doge

And it's the best thing in the game, IMO.
