Most convincing game Brazil is playing so far. Trying to score more instead of scoring once and then sandbagging like they were doing before. They have to keep putting on the pressure

Brazil looked great in this game, I'm particularly a fan of Coutinho, Paulinho and Thiago Silva (Silva for a while now). Neymar played a lot better this time around but his whining is annoying af, and I despise Gabriel Jesus and his always on the verge of tears face.

Although they share many of the same players they look a lot better than the 2014 squad.
Your analysis is a bit suspect.

First, Serbia is not a good team and worse, they don't match up well with Brasil and the style of play. Second, Paulinho can be clumsy, but he did have that finish and that is something. He also can't last a full 90min. Overall the team looked 'ok' but without Marcelo (no one knows yet what happened) they will not win this cup, they don't even have a shot.

But you are right about Gabriel Jesus. He's not ready for a world cup appearance at 21. Tite keeps playing him because he appears in every single fucking Brasilian commercial. It's annoying. Fermino is a much better fit and he's on the damn bench.

If they don't stop playing Jesus, and Marcelo doesn't come back this team doesn't have a shot in the quarter finals.

Dammit, couldn't watch the German-S.Korea game. However, judging by the pictures of the video judge secretly doing double shifts for McD, bargain bin or garbage bin German team T-shirts, Russia WW2 quips and a whole slew of other related stuff hammering my whatsapp chat for the last few hours, I'm guessing the game went terribly. Man, soccer fans can be pretty vicious, huh.

Worth it to watch the whole disaster, or should I just pretend to have seen it and be done with it?

Strange though that once again the goals happened in overtime. This seems to be a recurring theme this WC - or am I imagining things?

Depends on which Mexico and Brazil shows up.
The Mexico that showed up against the Germans vs the Brazil that's showed up most of the tournament? I'd place my money on the Mexico.
The Mexico that showed up today? LOL.

Brasil matches up well against Mexico. Mexico will push forward and get destroyed.

Feels like a lot of you don't have a grasp on how this game is played. Every appointment Brasil faced in this tournament  parked the fucking bus. A team that opens up either has to be really good attacking forward and scoring goals or they risk getting ripped a new asshole.

...I never said they were winning it all, just that I liked what I saw in this game.

Well i didn't and i've followed this team closely. I'm still not sure why coach Tite decides to go with Gabriel Jesus, and Marcelo being out is a huge blow to the creativity of this team, especially with Neymar playing like dog shit/recovering.

There's no backup plan either with Costas still injured, no Alves, and now no Marcelo????

Oh well

Time to watch Belgium destroy England
Both teams are playing to lose since the left side of the bracket is so much harder. Belgium isn't even starting some of their best guys. Expect a shit game.

Good job Colombia but they'll be gone next round. They have no chance against England or Belgium.

Yeah but there weren't articles popping up how Poland is in their golden generation and had a considerable shot at the championship. England loves to do this to themselves.

So let's see how the knockout 16 bracket goes:

Uruguay vs Portugal- Uruguay

Spain vs Russia - Spain

France vs Argentina - France but i wouldn't mind seeing Argentina continue to this chaos

Croatia vs Denmark - Croatia

Brazil vs Mexico - Brazil but this will be a closer game than i would like

Sweden vs Switzerland - Sweden but it could easily be the Swiss

Belgium vs Japan - Belgium

Colombia vs England - England but man i'd love to see Colombia do this

Uruguay vs Portugal- I don't know. It'll be close

Spain vs Russia - Spain

France vs Argentina - France

Croatia vs Denmark - Croatia

Brazil vs Mexico - Close but I'm going with Mexico

Sweden vs Switzerland - eh, who cares?

Belgium vs Japan - Belgium

Colombia vs England - Another close one. But I think England will win out

There has to be a crazy upset in this phase.. if i had to pick the possible upsets it would be Argentina over France and Colombia over England. These may actually happen.

Mexico over Brazil could very well happen but i'm not even going to entertain that.

The most likely scenario in order of probability would be

Colombia over England but that's not much of an upset. Then it could be Mexico over Brazil but like i said i don't even want to entertain that. And if we get even crazier, yes, Argentina over France can be a possibility of a great upset.

The biggest upsets in the whole bracket, if it were to happen, i'd say Japan over Belgium would be insanity, as well as Russia over Spain. Those ain't happening though.

i had this feeling Argentina would do this. Teams that come in after too easy of a group stage always falter .  France didn't have to deal with being down or being in a dogfight.

They're too talented though, i can't imagine them not getting an equalizer.
