Mine is $265 a month. That includes the water bill, outdoor lawncare and maintenance, and all that kind of shit, and they are on top of stuff...but I'd be totally cool living in a house without HOA too so dunno.

Worst thing that happens around here and douchebags who don't pick up after their dogs. They recently put up some "PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG!" signs around the complex, and I notice that the responsible folks like me didn't get signs in front of their places. There's one older couple with a little dog who they always let out without a leash. He shits everywhere and now they usually direct him towards bushes so it's less obvious. One of the signs is right in front of their steps.

Like i said, there are pluses and minuses to it. If you have a great HOS it's wonderful, if you happen to fall in with nazis it's terrible.

The people that comprise the communities board is huge. I always try and get involved on the board because if you don't and you get some fucking assholes in there or fucks that have their own agenda of what things should be it can be a nightmare.

For example my moms HOA is pretty decent but the people on her board are fucking trash. They allow people to have huge dogs, dogs are constantly loose, you can be jogging and run into a rottweiler as if that's totally cool because 'oh it's not a vicious breed you have to raise it right" which is complete bullshit. They'll warn people about loose dogs but never do anything but they'll instantly ticket your car if you park on the side of the road at night

My car said 102 today and the humidity was reportedly in the high 70's to 80's with a heat index around 115, and it certainly felt like it.

I basically don't go out in the peak heat for extended time unless it's to a pool or I'm forced to. Shit is straight miserable when the humidity is this bad. According to the heat index it still feels like 98 outside right now.
