I left club football for a couple of years and focused more on combat sports, all the diving this WC has reinvigorated my thirst. Time to dust off the old ram rod.

I entered the fantasy league.
My approach was to stockpile as many average players as possible  :doge

i'm glad everton have learned from their mistakes of last summer and are going to throw £50m at watford for richarlison who hasn't scored or assisted since last year.

I am still struggling to come to terms with the new football economy. 70+ mil for Alisson is nuts, 50 mil for Richarliison is utter insanity.

Can't stand the guy, but yeah compared to the prices paid on the market it was a bargain.

As someone who has adopted Chelsea as my favorite English team during the Vialli and Zola days, I expect some Maurizio Sarri fuckery this season, that guy is a loose cannon.

Not much anymore but I'm a dirty Internazionale stan so when I do, it's usually Serie A.

Yeah, I know, stones from glass houses and all that.

I also tend to like the Bundesliga.

Inter  :respect

I started rooting for Inter when my Italian friend growing up was a huge Milan fan, so by default I had to pick Inter :doge

Bundesliga is boring, especially since my favorite team is 2 tiers below it. More time for other leagues though :rejoice

I don't have the patience to follow the individual leagues anymore. I do what i do with all sports... i follow the playoffs

Which for this sport is the Champions League.

The Champions League has some really good teams playing each other, but that's it.
Football is so amazing because of the culture around it and you get nothing or very little of that in the Champions League. It is pretty much a football dystopia where every bit of passion
has been eliminated to be as pleasing as possible for the sponsors.
Football needs rivalries and you only find them in the leagues, although the Premier League all but eliminated football culture from the stadiums, you'll find more of that in the pubs these days.
I've been to 6 PL games in recent years and there were long stretches where there was absolute silence and the crowd behaved more like a Tennis audience.
It's a similar situation in Italy btw, the Ultras have been pretty much purged(some for valid reasons though) from the stadiums and the days where the stands were an absolute madhouse are gone. I was at the Genoa derby 10 years or so ago and didn't even bother to watch the game itself because the show in the stands was 10x more entertaining.

TLDR: I am just salty about modern football.

I didn't pay attention last year and there was so much turnover I don't recognize half of Arsenal's roster.

It's weird going into an Arsenal season not knowing ahead of time how it'll turn out.

ManUtd dominates early, scores the first goal and then plays Mourinho ball to let Leicester back in the match. :rejoice

Always so shit when Pep decides to rotate. If he benches Aguero in any of the upcoming games I swear Im dropping all my City players.
