I don’t necessarily believe this accuser over others. In general, I think the idea that we need to just take the word of some rando without receipts to the point where we are firing people from their jobs is just dumb, in general.
You got guys like Weinstein, who are clearly guilty, and there is a ton of evidence of it, and then you got Karen monahan posting on her sons Facebook in-between posts urging people to buy his mixtape, and then being 100% unable to produce the receipts when challenged. But this logic says we should believe Karen Monahan, why exactly? Because she’s a woman?
Anyone who has Facebook for the last 10 years knows that it’s not all that uncommon for women (especially young women) to exaggerate, make up nonsense sob stories, or just trash their exes with questionable claims.
I agree that sexual assault is probably under reported and more common that popular opinion probably thinks... but I also think that about 10-20% of the Me too allegations are basically made up and/or not really sexuall assault and not really worth mentioning.
