Planning to get:

-Spider-Man (PS4)(Although I have this pre-ordered at Amazon with the now-defunct 20% discount...and it still doesn't have a release date listed, lol.  If I want to get it without the discount, release date shipping is listed.  Fuckers.)
-Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country (Switch)
-The World Ends With You: Final Remix (Switch)
-Dragon Ball FighterZ (Switch)
-SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy (Switch and PS4- the latter is getting a physical release in the form of a CE from NISA)
-Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PC)
-Valkyria Chronicles 4 (Switch)
-Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner MARS (PS4)

And then IIRC right at the beginning of October are Mega Man 11 and Fist Of The North Star: Lost Paradise.  Too much shit.  Have pre-order discounts on everything but some may still have to wait until later.

Waiting on DQXI to either get a big price drop on PC or to see how the Switch port turns out.

-Super Neptunia RPG

This got delayed to 2019, unless you meant the Japanese version?  Dunno.

I'm only picking up Dragon Quest at launch. Spider-Man, The Bard's Tale, and Valkyria Chronicles will have to wait until later.

Spider-Man. I want to play Tomb Raider, but I don't have time for both and I know it'll be on sale for $30 by the end of the year.

The only way you're not gonna be able to play those at launch is if you're Switch (or PC in the case of RDR2) exclusive. There's no reason in 2018 to only own one console and be a fucking stan about it. The world needs fewer Kosmas, not more. Buy more consoles, build a gaming pc, don't be an asshole.

Sure, but there's pretty much no reason to own a 'Bone if you already have a PS4. There actually are reasons to get a Switch even if you already have a PS4, though.

He got himself permabanned from ResetERA, so maybe he's had more free time to work on his game?

I've been wondering if I should play and try to finish the base game*, since I got it for "free" and I like shooting things so numbers pop up and then bars increase until numbers increase leading to more bars increasing.

*2 on PC, I should specify just in case.

I've posted legitimate criticism of Nintendo in the past that sorta gets glazed over. The price of hardware and peripherals, how terrible their digital pricing is for sales, there being no effort in backwards compatibility with Nintendo's entire library, digitally.

If I got a Switch, Id play Binding of Issac and Disgaea 5 in portable mode. Those are most two desired games for the console.

I wonder how much I'd still like the TWEWY story now that I've been completely burnt out on Japanese highschool stories to the point of me being pissed just seeing these school uniforms in a game/show. Though I guess the characters were iirc closer to kids than typical teens. It also gets some points for being the first time J-POP didn't only not kill my ears but was actually really good.

Honestly, I think a lot of that has been fixed.

The biggest problem is definitely the digital sales which are all awful.

But switch is not a bad value for what it is, and the pro controller basically costs the same as a boner or ps4 controller cost at this point in their lifecycle.

Sure you can get one now for $40-$50 but the model is $59 and they cost that for the first 2 or 3 years.

Imo they actually were the best about BC until switch completely changed architectures. You could soft mod a Wii u to play GameCube games and it can play every Wii game.

I have all 3 though. Switch for kiddie games and Indies, ps4 for exclusives, and bone for everything else.

I should've bought Tomb Raider. I pretty much  hate Spider-Man. Combat camera is shit, resulting in lots of free enemy hits and trees or walls right in your goddamn eyeballs. Timed missions. Chase/tailing missions where the villain "escapes" even though you can clearly still see him throwing around cars a block away and it makes perfect sense that Spider-Man would just give up and go home over a twenty foot difference in distance. Bog fucking standard collectibles and gang hideouts. The same three or four "random" police scanner street crime missions copy/pasted over and over. Pros: J. Jonah Jameson's podcast is pretty fucking funny. The graphics sure are graphic. Swinging around is fun. Cons: the part where you play the game.  I mean, there are settings to turn off the QTE and rapid button presses. If you're going so far as to acknowledge QTE and button mashing are shit, how about you just don't put them in the game to begin with.

As anyone could have predicted by the sole fact that it's a modern open world game. What a shit genre. Equally predictable was that popular IP + open world will make for way too high review scores, because reviewers are easily impressed apparently. Even Zelda's removal of icons could only hide the genre's typical repetition for so long.

Ended up buying Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Xenoblade 2 - Torna on the Switch, and Metal Max Xeno for PS4. So I'm gonna be weebing it up big time this month [but not until nearly the end of the month].

Also got a copy of Bard's Tale 4 coming, but I paid for that a long time ago when it was on Kickstarter.
