Hi yall I've been listening to a few japanese pop songs (?) on youtube and am hoping to find more amazing songs like this. I'm sure you fine gentleman on thebore have expertise knowledge on this subject

These are vaporwave/synthwave/whatever they're calling it this week tracks, not j-pop, bruh. I think the style of music you might want to search for is called "city pop."

I'm big into Future Funk myself. Not as into the songs that sample 80s J-Pop but there's a few that stand out, like:

I like some of the J-pop/hip-hop stuff from the early-mid 2000s. Stuff I found out about when I was over there. No idea what people like now.

This one is my favorite, but for some reason the music video is really hard to find. It's a parody/send-up of Saturday Night Fever. And holy shit...it made it into Just Dance!?
