i would be more sympathetic to an argument about traditional clothing standards for women in workplaces not being as practical or warm. i mean, i work at start-ups now where women wear jeans, hoodies sneakers etc. no-one gives a fuck. but i've def been in corporate environments where formal wear is required and for young women that often meant pencil skirts and cute dresses
mostly avoiding suit pants unless they were older.
