I watch most of my Youtube stuff on a Roku, which only plays pre-video ads. It's pretty nice.

I have to kill the tedium at work. I can't use an adblocker at work. We don't allow plugins. I also don't run root anymore on my phone. Used to.

The Roku app is fine until it isn't and preloads the same commercial over and over and over on every video. I just gave up and subscribed.

You guys are complaining about a service that loses money;  but this thread is a good reason why it does... and why they charge $12.. and why they try their best to force ads on mobile where a lot of people don't have any ad block solution.

For over 10 years, ads were the only way to make money on the site, and not everyone liked that. Tech nerds in particular used to say a lot "if there were a way to pay to get rid of ads I'd do it in a heart beat! Google is being so stupid."

We use a couple off the shelf filters, but they're not as strong as they should be. It's really unfortunate.
