So does this mean Obsidian will make Fable 4, and will this be an actual finished project unlike 2 and even more obviously 3? :doge

I hope this works out as we thought it would in 2000 when Microsoft bought all those studios that are now closed or neutered.  :doge

I've always cared about Obsidian! They make the crpgs I like.
But Pillars 2 bombed like hellfire and fucked them all over so whoops, gotta do what they gotta do.

Maybe we'll get one game out of it before MS shuts them down. Dunno. I still need to play KoTOR II & Dungeon Siege III & The Pillars II expansions so I've got enough Obsidian backlog to last me for a while even if they're gone.

I didn't even realize Microsoft discontinued the Kinect altogether last year.

Also the USB adapter for the S/X/PC:
Quote
“After careful consideration, we decided to stop manufacturing the Xbox Kinect Adapter to focus attention on launching new, higher fan-requested gaming accessories across Xbox One and Windows 10,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to Polygon. As for any plans to bring back the item in the future, the representative declined to discuss Microsoft’s product roadmap, but said the adapter “will no longer be available.”

...

if you search for “Kinect” on the Microsoft Store website, the adapter doesn’t even show up in the results anymore; we were only able to access the sold-out product listing from an old link.

Because the Kinect Adapter has been so hard to find lately, it’s fetching exorbitant prices on the secondary market. Third-party sellers on Amazon are charging about $300 for a new item — 7.5 times the retail price of the accessory, and more than the cost of an Xbox One S — while used adapters on eBay have gone for hundreds of dollars in recent weeks. This has produced a rash of one-star reviews on the Kinect Adapter’s out-of-stock Microsoft Store listing, with customers raging in disbelief that they have to buy the device in the first place and in frustration that they can’t do so at a reasonable cost.
lol, yeah, "customers" amirite

This is as good a time as any to say that the unofficial fan patch for Bloodlines is still in active development, with the most recent revision in OCTOBER 2018. Game came out November 2004.  :salute

Don't worry guys Perfect Dark Zero will still be a GameCube exclusive. Microsoft said that Rare could finish their existing projects first.

It probably won't be a microsoft game since they're letting them carry out pre-existing contracts and I know they signed up with 2K to publish a game. So crisis averted for some of you.

Hmmmmmmm, yeah I wonder what this is.

Obsidian hasn't done a bigger budget game since like...South Park/Dungeon Siege III/New Vegas, right? Been a while. Which makes sense since after the XBX launch title was canned they put a bunch of staff on that World of Tanks for years to keep the place afloat.

I probably should wait for them to finish bloodlines before I start my play through.

Like that dumb ninja theory VR Star Wars game that's still coming out on PSVR and of course Minecraft. So while I get what you're saying your boy Phil is being stupid when it comes to software exclusivity.

Shit, I have enjoyed Ninja Theory games, have a PSVR, and like Star Wars.

I guess I am their huckleberry.
