I came across The Bire not long after I finally got reapproved for NeoGAF.com around late 2006 I believe. I searched something about someone from GAF probably and it came up and I saw all the juicy gossip was here, back in the times when a picture of "Dragona" was posted regularly despite people saying it was not her. Even had a dancing emoticon of it. I just remember it getting posted like every month and the same conversation happening over and over again.
So for a few years I would pop in to see the garbage thread, it was a different type of garbage then, the dumpster was more personally familiar with their antagonists. But it had the enduring feature of links to stupid threads/posts that we ALL still enjoy to THIS day. I liked that but wound up with a bunch of stupid knowledge about NeoGAF.com's finest that I could not even hint at on NeoGAF.com.
Then one day, the mods came for Soccer GAF. And I did nothing for I was an American.
The one day, the mods came for NBA-GAF. And I did nothing because I was asleep. And saelent was pretty garbage even then. So I looked at more of The Bire and decided there were too many people I liked and that I would subtly infiltrate the forum so as to expose any future mod sex crimes.
Then demi cleaned out a bunch of registrations that were spam and such and probably took me out. Some months later I re-registered. The pull of The Bire was too strong, the people needed a champion.
In late 2015 after having posted here for four years I for the first time was banned from NeoGAF.com for "trolling." besada would ban me three more times for this including the final time, because he knew what kind of threat I was to his specially curated forum that was about to implode into a temper tantrum that nobody thought about ahead of time over Evilore doing the kinds of things Evilore had done in the past.
But by then I was already too entrenched into The Bire, having nearly as many posts here as at NeoGAF.com. Despite the best efforts of the Joe/Rumbler Axis to stop me from uncovering the earth shaking secrets they were hiding. Just like I did about Steve Youngblood, the terror of the internet.
I had no need to return to NeoGAF.com, even though the JUSTICE project should GIVE GREAT JUSTICE. And the interest in ResetERA.com was not posting, but reveling in the debauchery of thought that characterized NeoGAF.com's thirty year old white males just before the split. The Bire is superior, even an Assi, an etoliate, an Optimus, leads to entertainment in certain forms because of the culture of The Bire. Especially the fact that everything must be serious at all times strengthened by strong independent fact checking.
Many loved ones have shambled off. Esch. Himu. (They came back.) Wrath. Himu. (They came back.) Oscar. The Walrus. filler. Ones I'm not even remembering I'm not remembering. But I have gained others, some that do a lot for raising the level of the place for me. Andy-kun. Vom. KennyLoggins. 213372bu. Exodust. moblin. To pick a few. So there's been change. But in my time there has been a single constant, a northern star to steer the ship by.
