100 Missions' worth of space bug blasting action
4 radically different character classes even though WING DIVER is the only one you really need to play, though Air Raider can spawn fuckin tanks and mechs and shit and that is good as hell
Translation and voice acting that's so bad it's good
Sliding down on the trackpad makes your guy scream "EE-DE-EEEEFFFFFFFFFFF!"
GOOD graphics, remember we are coming from EDF4.1 that LITERALLY HAD NO LIGHTING, now it's at PS4 launch game-level graphics cuz they switched to Unreal and IT ACTUALLY WAS A GOOD THING
Getting nuked from orbit
The craziest fuckin weapons your eyes ever done seed
Pacific Rim level annihilation of once beautiful Japanese cityscapes
MECHAGODZILLA
The worst first two tutorial levels ever that will make you question why you just paid $60 and think that Sho Nuff is a LIAR but then it gets SO GOOD
Functional 4 player coop for you and your Boritos and 2-player split screen too if you have a small child or something that isn't playing Switch

So yeah it's back, it's shithouse crazy, the graphics are actually not totally garbage and you can bet your bottom dollar Nuff-Sama is gonna be rockin this shit WELL INTO THE NEW YEAR

I saw this and wLabyrinth (game where the girls' boobie size grows as you level up) at TGS. This looked fun, haven't played the series yet but wacky Japanese action is my style.

Also pretty surprised our resident Japanese game connoisseurs haven't ever played an EDF.

Yeah, it's awesome, it's like the best J-diablo loot game with huge destruction and lots of wacky, good challenge and lots of lolz. Much much better in MP though, so if you can play with at least a friend in 2p.

IMPORTANT SHIT TO KNOW:

Multiplayer progress <> Singleplayer progress; they are separate
Completion percentage is based on you completing EVERY LEVEL on EVERY DIFFICULTY
You can start getting the best drops by playing early missions on the hardest difficulty level

Up to level 21 at this point. I am getting real good at murdering frog people. Fly to the top of the tallest building, fire the PLASMA BIG CANNON to knock off some limbs, then drop down with the rapier spraying laser death. Suck it

So my short experience in online MP is that EDF isn't that much fun in online MP with strangers and no voice chat. Like the other 3 people just go about doing their own thing shooting their own stuff and you hardly even notice they exist. Basically feels like playing SP.

Whereas I played all the other games in split-screen local coop and it was amazingly fun because of all the hilarious hijinks and joking around. Feels like EDF only works with friends really for MP.
