I was on holiday recently and took the 'ol PSP with me and played a bunch of Wipeout Pure. Holy shit the intro cutscene is so so good. I watch it everytime I start up the game. Just oozes that UK cool and gets you pumped up for some AG racing.

What are some other killer intros?

I actually think PS1 Namco had the best intros ever as CG was still kinda new enough to blow minds.

Also think music was super important to a good intro. FF Tactics and Suikoden II are sentimental faves but haven't aged well...

yeah music is KEY I reckon. Thats why the Wipeout Pure intro is so good - the music is brilliantly tied to the visuals

Can't believe I didn't immediately think of this one (and surprised it hasn't been posted), total classic:

I remembered the intro to Silent Hill 3 being way better. Watching it again the song is still great, but as a whole it comes off kinda cheesy. Like a basic music video for a tune on a movie soundtrack that just plays random scenes and spoils the best scenes the whole movie.
