An acquaintance of mine asked me if I'd heard anyone say anything bad about him behind his back recently and I lied and said no. I think he knows I was lying when I said that. Should I tell him what I've heard, even if I know it will make him feel terrible?
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario here isn't it? On one side you want to protect your friends feelings, but at the other you don't want to lie to him. I'd say ignorance is bliss for the most part, I mean if it's behind his back, then I'd say it's not going to hurt him more or less then if he heard what was going on.
The *right* thing to do would be to tell him, but god knows how many times I said I wanted to hear it and I didn't so don't and say you did ;p
