Reading that ps4 digital sales thread, I can’t believe people like inserting discs and shit as part of the gaming experience. As a weirdo who bought a switch and never uses it as a handheld, god I wish I had gone digital with it. Extracting the damn system from switch scratching dock, and swapping carts is the worst. Now I fully expect nothing I buy on a console digitally to carry over to the next generation (especially from Nintendo), but man is it a PITA with switch. For the few games I play with physical versions on it I wish I could go back and buy them digitally instead, just for the convenience.
Also I don’t really understand collecting physical games for systems beyond the ps2 generation. The 360 generation you get systems hounding you for logins, profiles, and possibly dlc downloads from servers that are (or will be) gone. And then this gen you get a 1.0 (if you’re lucky) of a game on the disc, with the other half of its content as a season pass download.
I mean at least with digital on pc if shit goes south for valve with steam, you're just a cracked .exe away from playing your games again.
