I also hang around translators, both professional ones and fan ones, and read a lot about what they talk about. On top of this, I'm a professional in the Anime industry who has proofed subtitles before and I can sniff out a lot of times where lines 'feel' translated because a lot of the time it's the result of idioms or sentence structure impacting the way a line becomes written. I fully appreciate the deep and vital importance of nuance when it comes to translation between languages.

In this case, I simply think a threat of violence is a threat of violence. Xi is a known entity. The subtext is no longer subtext. That's what I mean when I say this facade has shattered and I don't think anybody should spend time rebuilding it. The quiet part is loud. The footnotes no longer matter. It's like trying to put the genie back into the bottle.

You need a lot of money in the bank to cover the cost if it goes the wrong way.  Options were invented to allow people to sell stuff by promising to by the other end to 'cover' it.   Pinch the foreskin really tight.  Got it?  Good.  Now pee.  It should fill up like a balloon.  Now release.  Congratulations, you have performed The Hindenburg.   Options also have a 'time element' that expires, so if you buy it and it expires in the right 'place' you make a lot of profit from a small initial stake and low margin or 'backing' to the broker.

Had to double check to make sure the people saying transphobic things aren't banned yet, and nope! KKBB is still around, for example. So we have multiple trans people banned for being hostile towards someone being willfully ignorant and hurtful. So the lesson is you can be transphobic as long as you keep it relatively civil.

What the hell? You cannot honestly expect trans people to listen to literal TERF talking points to stay calm and civil when it goes unmoderated. I've had something similar happen to me before and honestly it's ridiculous to punish the victims for reacting in an angry way when the aggressors are "polite" about denying your humanity.
