SMAC/SMAX isn't that dystopic.

Assimilating with windworms actually is my idea of a good time.

Ah, I see you are a man of Gaia's Stepdaughters, led by Lady Deirdre Skye as well.

Within the first 5 responses, two of them have admitted they go to "passive aggressive" behaviour.

Couldn't have picked that coming from those fucking weirdos.

On the other hand, we bitch about it on an entirely different forum :neogaf

"Objective moral failing" :brazilcry

Meh, the fact that I wasn't passive in my aggression is the reason I am banned from that dirthole.

Tbf that's only because their terrible mods dictate it to be so. Back on GAF I was always directly assertive with people, and that's certainly true IRL. We're not here because we lack the balls to be assertive and speak our mind; we're here because we're not allowed to speak our mind. If we start, we'll be banned before we can even have a real conversation.

I put up with tons of dogpiles back in the day. It was only after mods started rewarding dogpiles with bans that I was successfully driven from there.

Depends how you play it.
My CEO Morgan runs are a utopian playthrough of ecological harmony, and global peace, because if anyone tries too start a war I just buy their fucking armies out from under them.

I not only will defend a sense of disgust at this kind of thing, but I'd say that feeling disgust is a necessary expression of proper moral development. Rather than the notion that feeling any discomfort equals a discriminative "phobia," let me go on the record to say that a lack of revulsion here would be an objective moral failing, evidence of an already distorted and severely damaged ethical lens."

The guy who posted that is a nutbar Catholic, so I guess disgust as moral development goes only so far.

I think Eminem coming up around Black people and in the hip hop scene is what made him anti-republican. He would have been more susceptible to being a rightwinger had he stayed in a po' White bubble.

Kanye is just a brainwashed coon. He's put White culture on a pedestal and has sought validation since '07 rap magazine interviews. Kanye's dad was a Black Panther and his mom was a college professor, he's a fucking eternal embarrassment that should know better.

Gotta love verified members supporting the bullying of the mentally disabled.

But seriously, these people underestimate the amount of Trump supporters in marginalized groups, which bullying of would be considered "punching down".  It's not all rich white people smoking hundred dollar bills while throwing massive parties every time they hear about new immigrant kids in cages.  That definitely doesn't apply to the two people in my family who voted for Trump, one being clinically depressed and had to be talked down from suicide 5 times now and the other having pretty severe Cerebral Palsy.  I vehemently disagree with them on politics and think their votes have actively made the country a worse place, and more so for themselves than a lot of people, but even considering bullying them over it seems beyond reprehensible imo.

Obesity rates are skyrocketing, health issues caused by it are at an all time high, and sugar is in basically everything that's mass produced. ... Projections put over 95% of Americans will be overweight by 2050, so what the fuck are we going to do about it?

i agree but we need to include salt as well

They want us fat and stupid. Until that changes, or we force them to change, things will stay as is.

I agree. Also, people in general just need to eat wayyyy less simple carbs. Redo the food pyramid.
Quote
Simple solution is a law that says all food products sold can’t have more than X amount of sugar per 100grams/100mL
So the OP (and everyone agreeing with him) wants to introduce some kind of mandatory food rationing of literally everything to ensure that people don't overeat or miseat?

Seems like kink shaming to me.

Sadly it'd pointless to rethink food regulations, if you don't rethink how the food industry works as a whole, and what they make their money on. Surely, 100% of them food companies won't be happy at all if you tell them they have to focus on producing healthier food, because healthier food takes more time to make, more resources to grow and be prepared, and time is motherfucking money! So you'd basically be telling them "hey, focus on those kind of food that are healthy, but also that are definitely not efficient cost-wise, take more time to grow, and need more space to do so, instead of growing whatever instant cash-grab you were doing before that allowed you to be this wealthy and politically influential through lobbies and such, ahah ok dude?"

This problem is way deeper, and way more complicated than it looks like, truly. It's highly political at this point, so idk, maybe dismantle Capitalism in the process and we might get there?

How are you going to "force" people not to eat themselves into obesity, exactly? Are you going to outlaw sugar? Are you going to have a 1 item per person law on cupcakes? I mean i thought we were celebrating the legalization of marijuana, but then you turn around and hope for the further infantilization of the population.

This blanked demonization is just stupid and goes against the actual solution of educating the public.

In all seriousness, there is a debate on how legislation and implementation of nutrition guidelines does help contribute to the raising levels of obesity that we're currently seeing in the U.S.

Also, school lunches are terrible, and I legit see kids every day bypass or throw away school lunches to eat a bag of takis that were smuggled in because L.A. County said the school couldn't sell junk food (Chips, soda, snacks, etc) to fundraise.

I don't know how bad school lunches are in the US, but when i was a kid, my mates always bitched that they couldn't eat fries or pizza everyday at the school cafeteria, so i'm not sure you could really make kids happy enough to have them eat their lunch.
(besides i'm assuming most people get fat because of what they eat outsider of their basic meals).

But i'm always down for more education, and even reasonable regulations on what should be sold and produced, however at the end of the day, there is just no way to force someone out of obesity, barring a totalitarian dystopia.

i don't get the part of it with the mannequins
She stole the mannequin's leather jacket (?).

No wait i watched it without audio, so she takes everything from the dude, so it's probably the dress under it.

We like this food because it's been engineered into the best tasting stuff for humans with no regard to whether it's healthy for us or not.

Disagree. Regulating cigarettes has caused less consuming of cigarettes. Regulating sugar and other unhealthy things would cause a dramatic decrease in it's consumption.
:derp

spoiler (click to show/hide)
sugar is already heavily regulated by the feds

We do need serious regulation on that stuff, but then we'd have to deal with lobbyists buying off politicians. My advice would be to save yourself and those close to you first by sharing what you know and letting everyone else fend for themselves. I think we're past the point of significant intervention being an option.
