I'm not sure I believe this story about High Voltage's "Splatoon" there's no contemporary sources reporting the leak that I can find, only people reporting the YouTube video which reports the failure of the game seven years later.

And now they don't like that people found the Ghostwire director charming, even though she obviously presented things in a charming, funny way, with lots of gestures. Go on Era, protect this opressed woman that is even retweeting stuff saying she was the best thing in the conference, obviously due to ASIAN FETISHISM.

Benji shut the fuck up the entire thread doesn’t need to get spammed here.

It's also possible it's the other way around. Nintendo, as publisher, has to make sure leaked info doesn't tarnish the 3rd party developers. Otherwise, Nintendo can actually get sued by the 3rd party developers, because of reputation loss.
Quote
You being completely okay with the devs suffering, makes me aware that I put you on ignore way too late. So thank you ✌
Quote
Your arguments are terrible, and I think you should feel bad. You're saying things are related that aren't, you're saying it doesn't matter because it's just video games. You're basically saying that all your reasons should somehow impede an author's ability to control what reaches the public when. That's a slippery slope.

Seems like there are a lot of people who just are never gunna get it...A severe lack of empathy maybe? I dunno. But some people here are truly sad.

Let companies control their message. End of freaking story. Don't defend leaks/leakers.

I have literally never said how big my dick was other than to joke it’s “extra medium” or “XXM” here (or anywhere really.)

But I love how multiple people project that onto me here as if I brag, totally says a lot about me and not you.

It's funny that that twit(er) thread makes it about Xenophobia instead of seeing the economic powers at the time and extrapolating a future from that. And people say there's no "outrage culture".  :doge

I'm sure it was just that Joss Whedon was Xenophobic when he made Firefly a Chinese inspired future...

Japan was MURICA's big trade enemy in the 80s, like China is today, with their inscrutable orientalism, stealing american jobs in things like the car industry

At last some common sense. Took long enough.
that post from the copyright expert tho that led to it:
Quote
Quote
You can't claim breach of copyright because someone reports that you have product X in development.
Yes, you can. It's called "right to first publish". When you're the copyright holder of a work, you also control when you let the public know about it, and when you let the public see it.
Quote
The whole point is that you control what you make. In this case, the announcement itself may be what's copyrighted. Putting it in terms of books and Amazon will not paint the whole picture. If I've made an album, I have the right to control how that's shared. That's my right to first publication. Giving that right to someone else is a case of Amazon and a book. So 'publishing' the name of a copyright work infringes that right the author has. The substansiality of what is revealed would be relevant in a fair use defense. Of course, a lot of this would come down to the author's interpretation of the substansiality. Given games, it's pretty big to know that, say, a new Sim City game is being made. If you make your claim that someone shared an announcement – a copyrighted work in itself – then you can argue that the name of what's being announced is a substantial part of that work. As I understand it, publishing something before the author has decided to make it available is a compounding factor to copyright infringement, since you are infringing the copyright if it's before or after first publication.

The point is that copyright grants the author the rights to control who can do what with their work.
