I'm kind of glad Mai didn't get in

I feel like Mai, while on one hand adding in more female representation, wouldn't be that much of a valuable representation with her sexualized appearance. I would have personally want to see more representation from the Persona series, or hell even more Xeno Saga rep.

Also I feel tired from reading all of Twitter's complaints about Mai not being added in, it's honestly the stupidest thing I've seen in the last couple weeks.

And I guess I should have added this to the title, but this is in context for Super Smash Bros Ultimate and how Terry got in (which I don't care for at all to be honest, never grew up with SNK).

And of course the sexualized (creepy) avatar

Jesus, why are they putting so much effort into this? Some people felt already overwhelmed with the amount of movies, so no surprise that adding multiple TV seasons to this isn't everyone's dream

You will now watch a decade of TV related MCU stuff, right after a decade of movies. And you WILL like it, heathen!

Good. This will give the writers more freedom to do cool shit.

In the sense that Edgar Wright had the freedom to bail the fuck out of working on Ant-Man because he didn't want to put in some superfluous shit with Falcon in the middle of his film just to pimp some other fucking film he had nothing to do with that wasn't even out yet, sure.

For the record I've never heard Jews use the word attractive Jewish person in a non-academic/quotation manner. Only black people use racial slurs as a random placeholder word.

Molly is trans, yes. She did post here some time ago. for some time she was running the reeboot of EGM. I'm not sure what her position is, but I'm fairly certain she still is with EGM (I haven't looked at the mag or site in over a year. Maybe there is no mag again for all I know). She used to do the Warning! A Huge Podcast, podcast. That died some years ago. Now she does a podcast with one other guy that's a good fun listen. Good dynamic between the two.

http://radio.morningproject.com/

I haven't listened to any of the episodes this year as it is infrequently updated. Think I'll listen to the newest one though. September.

Edit: yep she is still with EGM. Really tiny staff. I'm guessing it has to be only online at this point then.

Women do not have to "explain" their height to men. It just is.

The way that Rosalina unapologetically owns her height is an inspiration, especially in games such as Super Mario 3D World in which she is playable. I hope this trend will continue.

I didn’t cry in Seattle, during my flight layover, when I heard how amazing writers like Drew Magary and David Roth were leaving. I held it all in as Patrick Redford and Samer Kalaf mic dropped their way out the door. But the tears had to come out sometime. They came unexpectedly: when I saw the Overwatch 2 trailer.

Seeing a bunch of goddamn heroes team up to beat a giant, soulless robot broke something inside me. It was a team of folks coming together to do a brave thing, to have each other’s backs. It’s hard not to get romantic about art, and even harder not to tie it to whatever’s happening to you. So Overwatch banded together to defeat the Private Equity Bot 3000 (or so I imagine), and it was absolutely what I needed. All around me, I heard fans lose their minds with cheering when Genji swooped in to save the day. My heart seized up along with them, not for exactly the same reasons, but still. It felt good to lose myself in the excitement. It felt good when Tracer launched herself

There was a multipages thread earlier today about the struggle of doing an hadoken motion successfully.  Tons of people posting  about how hard it is to pull off and etc

How can anyone take even remotely seriously any type of gameplay discussion on Era after this?

The way to "cheat" a dragon punch on like an SNES controller is do two fireball motions in a row before the punch. If you can't do a fireball though you probably should just give up. The game isn't even looking for you to hit all the points in the fireball but make the motion, that's why you can roll it and do things like cheat out the dragon punch. It's digital emulating the analog of the arcade stick. Without looking at the thread I'm going to assume it's this because if they're talking about using analog sticks and not being able to throw a fireball I'm just giving up myself.

They must think it's literally impossible on an original PlayStation controller since you can't physically do a full contact diagonal on them. (Part of why they will murder your thumb pad.)

This just makes me want to know if there are any good fighting games where I don't execute moves based on using the directional pad or a combination of button presses. The last fighting game I was into was Killer Instinct on N64. I've tried several times since, the last being Street Fighter V, and I just can't do it.
Finally, the one person on earth that Primal Rage was designed for.

Or the c-stick/right analog automatic moves in those Capcom GameCube/Xbox versions.

The thing I've always wondered is does timing matter? Do you just move through the directions ASAP or do you have to make sure there's enough time at each position for the game to register it?
Yes, you hold down for two seconds, then down-forward for two seconds, then forward for two seconds, then punch for two seconds.

Most modern fighters don't really care if you do the diagonals for Shoryuken (dragon punch) or Hadouken (fireball) motions, so you can just do:

down, forward.

So I just bought the Arcade1up Marvel Super Heroes LE arcade cabinet because I'm a massive comic book fan. I always wanted to play the Punisher game and figured I could mod in more games in the future. But I have never played X-men: Children of the Atom or Marvel Superheroes, both of which are modeled after Street Fighter. And I've never really played Street Fighter either. I literally cannot beat the first character in Marvel Super Heroes. I can't consistently do this quarter circle move that people keep saying is so easy. I always end up jumping or completely whiffing the move because i'm too busy focused on trying to pull it off vs getting the spacing right.

So I spent hundreds of dollars on a cabinet and I can't beat the first character on 2/3 of the games. Still worth it to see it in my geek loft every day.

Until NeoGAF.com and ResetERA.com I didn't know so many people into gaming don't ever play games and therefore can't understand how any game works. Did that dude read like every FAQ on GameFAQs and buy five legacy strategy guides while he was waiting and now is freaking out because he's pixel counting the "spacing" when there isn't any to worry about? What Capcom fighter isn't setup so you can't button mash through the first dude? It usually isn't until like the third guy or so that the difficulty starts going up. The first fight barely fights back on most of the difficulty levels.

World Tour in Alpha 3 even jokes about it by sending you Dan to fight first for a bunch of the characters and he'll taunt like 75% of the time.

Holy shit.

TBH a lot of people have always had trouble with special moves in fighting games.  Back in the early 90s when SF2 came out on the SNES, I tried to teach friends to play Street Fighter II and none of them could get the moves down.  A lot more people were into Mortal Kombat because of its more simplistic move inputs.

If anything, it should be easier to do QCF on one of those Arcade 1 cabs if they have no gate. Just ride that shit and abuse it until it breaks because those joysticks are probably cheap Chinese clones of old HAPP levers (the old European manufacturers decided to build their own levers under IL, while HAPP decided to off source their manufactures to China.)

Nearing the better part of 50 years so far, we've yet to see a key/main/playable character of Color in a franchise as big as Mario.

I'm not sure why 43% of people here are against it. Adding a POC human would not in any way effect the Mario cannon. Their is none!
you're lying, this can't be a real post

edit: ok you should have posted the whole thing :lol

There are. I'm just saying that using the excuse that everyone in Mushroom Kingdom is an ethnic Italian does not fly because Italy does not exist in the Mario Universe. Nintendo could give Mario a black biological brother and they wouldn't have to explain it. It's a children's fantasy land where logic and reason does not exist.

Your comments just reeks of white privilege, ignorant and racism.

You're basically saying screw people of colour, let Nintendo do their own thing.
(Image removed from quote.)

Let Nintendo do their own thing. Which would imply that we should not let Nintendo do their own thing. Nintendo must do what we tell them. They must bow to our every demand. I don't know but is there anything that sounds more privileged?

This is the same company that's going on nearly a year of not responding to ResetERA.com's questions about their racist content in Smash to the point where they'll be out of the office for yet another Christmas Break soon with no reply.

The thread mentions how Italians can be swarthy... I think a game based around an art style (and content) of late 19th century, early 20th century anti-Italian/Irish/Chinese/etc. propaganda would be awesome. Italians were often portrayed as what we'd now think of as Mexican stereotypes.

I don't think ResetERA.com would like it much though.
