this has actually been up for debate a lot and is constantly argued, the general agreement was that characters like bowsette were "eastern furry" (which is dumb imho) but it's argued about a lot, or was when I used to look into it anyways a few years ago
I'm personally on the side of "they aren't animal enough not everyone is a furry" but the opportunity presented itself to tease people and it was 11/10 worth
