Yep, I have a Philips XL one and I believe Philips invented this appliance.
Get the bigger models because the regular ones are too small and you have to fry everything seperately (so by the time you're finished with your meat your potato's are cold).
Things that go well:
- Chicken (especially hotwings and the likes)
- Hamburgers
- Fries and various other 'regular' fry things (Frikandellen, Kroketten
)
- Bread (Croissants)
- Toast
- Fish
- Steak (medium or rare is delicous)
- Any sort of potato product
Things that I haven't gotten to work well
- Vegetables (this thing came with veggie recipes but veggie from an airfryer are just tasteless)
- Thicc meat (if meat is too thicc it is hard to properly fry. It usually stays raw on the inside and increasing the temperature doesn't help much (which is a + for steak but a - for everything else) you need to cut thicc meat in smaller pieces)
- Bitterballen (buy the oven ones Dutch friends, the regular bitterballen will look disgusting as they don't turn brown and they're usually undercooked)
- Schnitzels (even though this is not thicc I don't particularely like airfryed Schnitzels)
Overall I'm happy with my airfryer. It saves a ton of time and your kitchen or appartment won't smell like a fryer stand for a day plus it opens up foods that non-fryer owners can't cook.
Cleaning can be a hassle, especially the basket. But otherwise it is very easy to use and the food is tasty and far less greasy.
