I don't like it but it doesn't exactly shock me so I'm not going to complain about it too much or get mad if people consider my fandom one of my many bad personal qualities. If the children's series ever gets off the ground it's probably going to make that lot get shook af anyway.

Not quite sure what recent turn you're referring to, they did finally "advance the storyline" into the 42nd millennium* and bring back one of the Emperor's "children" (the guys space marines are the "children" of) but those guys were from a wholly different time when the Empire of Man was run like /r/atheism instead of /r/The_Donald.

*Real 40K heads know the Commissar Cain books already did this years ago in the metafictive window dressing.
