counterpoint, Rick Graham is fucking fantastic. Too bad he focuses mostly on instruction, as there's not much money in putting out instrumental rock nowadays.

I go to live dj gigs a few times a year, of course. I remember the time I went to see In Flames/Iced Earth with some friends from college and unbeknownst to me, Sasha and Digweed were playing across the hall (didn't wanna ditch my friends to try to sneak in)... the lead singer of Iced Earth was wondering why the atmosphere in their room was so muted while the people across the hall were going crazy...

headwalk (and whever else is into guitars), you should really check out Plini if you haven't. He's a guy who prioritizes songwriting, melody and catchiness over technique (not that he doesn't have great technique). It's like an evolution of Vai and Satriani with a bit of djent, Cynic, Dream Theater and other prog/metal movements from the past couple of decades.

Rick Beato does a great job highlighting what makes him such a special guitar player and song writer

of course he picked one of Plini's best songs
