Yeah it was a musing on the word "respect" itself, taking it purposefully at face value instead of the turn of phrase it is used as. I don't think Delphine's (or is it Belle ?) is in essence any worse than similar performers (I don't like her aesthetic parti-pris and the whole child-woman /Lolita angle but that's another discussion entirely). I won't lie and pretend to have zero moral qualms or value judgement about this whole spectrum of professions but not to the point of indignity and outrage. Ultimately it's her body, her life, her choice and how she is trying to make a living and who am I to argue about the quality of her job when she's getting much more monetary compensation out of it than a so-called honest career of wage servitude to our corporate overlords ? No one is being coerced or defrauded* as far as I can tell and her patrons are quite content it would seem. I am not convinced about the whole giant joke we're all in facade, I find it all a bit sad as an outside observer; I'd understood it better in fact if she was doing something more explicitly erotic or pornographic, but I'm not in their shoes or the arbiter of other people's fantasies.
Just to be clear there's plenty of occupations I have contempt for, it's not limited to "thots" (to use a quick catch all term). Better an Instagram model than being a cost killer.
* Though the obvious teasing and implicit promises may fall in that potentially moral gray area, outside of any legal considerations.
