I could never get into Discord use, feels too heavy and I've found out I don't like real-time public chat rooms (like IRC, Slack, etc.) Forums are more to my sensibilities.

Reddit is where I get my memes post-Tumblr. It's not bad at tracking web standards but not optimal.

Some of the discords are way too fast to keep up with, in general i read about standards on reddit, then ask questions about implementation on discord/slack.

Discord is cool, but IRC was beautiful back in the day. Much like IRC though, you don't really want to be in a big/really busy discord. The sweet spot is one with like 2 or 3 dozen ppl that are fairly active at different times.
