I've never been able to get into it due to the very different vibe than mainline FMP (which I really like), but I'll give it another shot.

Funny. I've never been able to get into regular FMP because I like Fumoffu so much and thought it took itself too seriously despite the soldier x schoolgirl dynamic. If you give Fumoffu another try I'll give regular FMP another shot.

FMP proper is mecha action, so it's something I'd like more by default. And slice of life high school comedy stuff has never been my thing.

Consider Fumoffu less slice of life high school and more Japanese Looney Toons. It might help.

Man it seemed unreasonably high last night when the death count was at 8 or 11, but now reading that it's 33 is insane.

You'd think that they'd be able to escape in time but apparently the fire just ripped through the whole building because of all the paper and the extreme amount of accelerate used

Looking at pictures of the building, it doesn't look like it had a fire escape on the exterior or really any secondary exits [just a lobby with a main entry and side entry]. The perp started the fire at the entrance, so people had to flee away from it.

Cindi, have you seen any of Haruhi Suzumiya? It's kinda hard to recommend it if you're not at least somewhat familiar with the series, but the movie they release a few years later is extremely good:

Nichijou is the kind of show that could only have come from KyoAni because no other studio would have put in the effort to have animation that detailed in a show like this.

i'm going to give lucky star a shot. once i'm done with fmp. never seen it and assumed i wouldn't like it.

I've also never seen k-on. figured it would ben uguu fest. I do like Haruhi, Free, and Fumoffu though obviously.

I watched the first 9 episodes in the last couple days. So damn good.

It seems the FMP manga is completed now (I haven't watched/read anything since Second Raid) so I think I'll catch up on that too.

I watched all the FMP anime series years ago, all are among my favorites but I liked Fumoffu the most.

I remember looking into the light novels back then, but from what I can find the last ones aren't translated. But, since the manga has an ending I think I'll rewatch everything and jump to that.

Also Sousuke does it because he trusts in her judgement. Girl has gone through literal war zones and survived. He knows she's capable. <3
