so i was googling other people involved in the pennyarcade neogaf ban to see if they were also banned until september.  i run across this forum and noticed a lot of familiar faces as i scrolled down.  felt like i stumbled upon a bizarro neogaf.

There's the old HB-Fred Quimby version, which is the best and has all the classics [T&J is the only great thing HB ever did, they rest of their cartoons suck asssssssss. Chuck Jones called them "illustrated radio"....I would have called them "tremendous ass-suck].   Then it's the psychedeluc, weird 60s Chuck Jones....one of the many reinventions from the nevertheless mastermind Jones that made me feel.....meh.

And then there's the 2003 T&J tales, which is nice in that it emulates the old school art style and violence, but lame in that its music sucks and the music-action synergy is just not there.

The Hanna-Barbera/Fred Quimby are the only true Tom & Jerry's.  I've only seen little of the recent ones but they are awful.  I'm quite content with having the old T&J's though - I can watch them till the cows come home.

We'll have to do a T&J thread sometime and post our favourite episodes.

The Fleischer Brothers were great at this. You should check out their 30's Popeye cartoons if you haven't seen them recently.

Yeh, the forums were compromized today. I had a phonecall from Dave explaining what had happened - and got Dan to pull the site offline until I was home to sort things. There isn't no backup's neither (Yeh - whoever attacked us totally fuck us over LULZ) so i'll have to see what I can do with the current database. This is the trouble with running 'main-stream' forum software - there's always some security issue.

The forums will be back - but expect a fresh start (Yeh - i'm probably just as pissed off as the rest of you are.. But that's life.) All PRO members will get their pro back - I have transaction logs of who paid (And I pretty much remembered who had paid up anyway)
