Why are you still posting without an avatar McDragon, are you still in your 'I look cool without an avatar because I have seen other members I look up to do the same' phase

I simply remember people by their avatars and not by the name.  This is probably why I hardly remember anyone on gaf, all those avatars are always the same damn things over and over.

I rarely change my avatar, but Bruce Willis with Sailor Moon couldn't compete against the TDKR Batman.

I remember many posters by avatar as well, at least at first.

Coming to EB was the first time I changed my avatar.  Cos it's so special here.

Near Brisbane which is on the eastern-most point of Australia.

It's about 20 hours of plane rides from Europe - pain in the ass.

Oh shit yeah - I wouldn't come anywhere near here unless you had to.  Tons of much better places to see.  I grew up in Cairns which is up on the north east coast - it's got boatloads of awesome stuff to do and see (it's a tourist destination for a reason).

In fairness, this area of Australia is quite good.  But I think people come to Australia to see coral reefs or "the outback" and there's better places for those things.

yeah ok, I still want to lick your scrotum

You can't get that anywhere else in Australia  :-*

Whenever I get an urge to live like an Australian I just go to Outback Steakhouse and then watch Crocodile Dundee.  That usually quells the urge for a good six months.

Wait, I also get really drunk.

is it true that 'bloody hell' is every bit as taboo to say in Public TV as , say, 'fuck me'?

and that everyone wears khakis, and say g'day mate?

speaking of which, what is the English sexual partner "mate" translated into Ausstraylyan?

I'm in Toowoomba.

Bloody hell isn't on the same level as fuck.  It's still swearing but not very bad - a bit above "damn it".  The government ran some ads for drink driving a while ago with the tagline "if you drink then drive, you're a bloody idiot" for example.  Yes, the ads were stupid - they attempted to get the message across by incorporating mild swearing.

People don't wear khakis.  Most people do say "g'day mate" but it probably depends what part of the country you're in as to how many do.  Men use "mate" mostly in relation to each other.  Women don't really use the word, and you don't really call women "mate".  Some do though.

"G'day" is the same as "hi" so it's used pretty frequently.  I say "g'day mate" to my male clients, but it is a very casual term so I wouldn't use it with a few.

Sexual partner "mate" in Australian?  I don't know, we use "mate" like that, but slang would be something like "she was a good root".
