The previous record holder was PS2, which took 5 years and 9 months to reach this milestone. PS4 did it in 5 years 7 months, so it is now the fastest selling home console to surpass 100 Million.

Sony does really well in the twilight of a console generation. Keeping up the exclusive releases and interesting bundles for their platform.

Nintendo first party developers usually go missing around year 3 and Microsoft Studios rightfully removed 'Games' from their branding and Xbox usually slows down when the advertising dollars and money hats are redirected to the next generation.

I prefer games + imperfect 4k support to no games + better 4k support.

I feel a bit sorry for the dopes who keep falling for Microsoft's promises again and again. Microsoft's software support has been shit for a decade now (ever since Kinect was released in 2010). It's obviously very hard to admit you bet on the wrong horse.

I've got 220 games installed on my Xbone, with 300+ uninstalled, not counting game pass or EA Access.

Are there Xbox owners out there that don't have access to games?

To clarify, 252 installed, 346 uninstalled. Gee whiz, where are the games guyz.

They'd probably gotten to PS2 numbers if they didn't lose Japan.

And finally good again Japanese games still getting all the record sales on PS4 despite that too.

Normal console gaming thriving with almost pre-HD variety of games again

- after the gen at first seemed like a straight continuation of trash PS360. Hope they don't fuck up the next hardware now, because the last Sony E3 was their Wii Music moment.
