COD Mobile

Might as well get its own thread since its currently super popular and free to play.

I'm not much of cod fan nowadays nor do I overly care for shooters on mobile but this is probably the best of the lot imo. Its basically a cod remix game that brings elements and maps from cod 4 up to like Black ops 2 which is something I've always kinda secretly wanted. For a mobile shooter its not bad. Here is some gameplay of someone playing on a tablet who is far better with that sort of input device than I could ever be.

If you are the type who would rather play on a mouse and keyboard or controller there is also the official android emulator version put out by the tencent backed product Game Loop.

You are supposed to be matchmade against other emulator players but there is some debate as to whether that is currently implemented and they are instead facing regular mobile players (And consequently crushing them). Somebody I know who tried the emulator version also complained of hackers but that wasn't my experience so who knows. He plays in another country so maybe that had something to do with it also.

In a best case scenario, I'd rather them just port the game to consoles or a regular pc environment but they probably don't want this competing with their yearly cash grab efforts on those platforms so it is what it is.

Like I said its not bad. It's look "decent" for a phone game. It plays like the cods I prefer ala the old ones. I had more fun playing this via the emulator than I did Black Ops 4 although that's not an especially high bar since I detest that game. But I do kinda like this. If you hate all the microtransactions in mobile titles and can't stop whining about it, then this ain't for you, forewarning as the title is full of them.

Currently not as far as I know unless there is some kind of hack, I'm not aware of. It did have controller support in beta but that option was removed when the game went live.

Watching someone play with touch controls is like they are trying to find clitoris.

That controls are funky, but you can dominate with the fact it'll auto-shoot for you, compared to PUBG mobile.

Then again:

The only problem is that most enemies are bots until you hit ranked mode,

NotSureIfBotsOrPlayers.jpg which was a problem for PUBG (but slightly less so, once you ranked up enough it turned bots off there, IIRC). Right now I'm going like 5+ KDR's because the map mode that has you fight in the middle just has you shooting gallery the enemy team with ADS + auto-fire on the simple touch mode. It's so... :neogaf

Yeah, Tencent's in charge of PUBG Mobile as well, and bots are there as well. I don't know why. I can understand for a few matches or a separate mode, but if I enter the versus mode/main modes: I kinda expect to have actual players on the maps.

Maybe when they implement controller support again (and make sure to keep the emulators out) it could be a "proper" CoD where no bots and just on-the-go console-like shooting.

I think I might try Gameloop and map a controller to play this on PC.
