I mean, there's a big difference between having personal feelings and putting it out there in public, especially when it's about a co-worker (and the 'but Rey isn't a real person' argument doesn't really hold water) where it can make people uncomfortable. I also think, while it's also less problematic due to our patriarchal society, the tweets from women about various Marvel stars are a little off-putting and weird as well, but it'd be even weirder and more off-putting if say, Brie Larson made a thirst tweet about say, Sebastian Stan, for obvious reasons.
I don't think it's cool to put people down like that, I don't think anyone has a negative intention if they characterize things in a way you disagree with, I don't think it's coming from a bad place to be concerned about objectification and stuff.
It just seems like kind of a reach for me personally because that's not how I look at media. I worked in pro wrestling for years, so I'd like to think I have a good grasp on the distinction between a character and the individual, but maybe you're right in that some people may not be able to make that distinction.
