Is it because I've reached this stage of my life? Or has the game evoked this feeling across age boundaries? I'm interested to know.

To me, after completing the game It felt like I'd been cuddling someone I care deeply for for a long time. Just a really warm fuzzy feeling.

Obviously the game doesn't hide the role of the child: being played literally in a tug of war between Sam and Cliff whom they see as their rasion d'etre; being used as a tool to see the world through a younger generation's perspective; representing the key (Sam) to the world's salvation. It's a pretty strong symbol in Death Stranding.

Along with the environmentalism theme, it brings about a strong sensation of obligation. Has it just given me new perspective on responsibility? and by extension, a cathartic need to care for something?
