RE2 remake is the shit so this is something I'm looking forward to.

I mean it got an MT Framework's port and Capcom still won't release it on Steam.

Even 4 which was on MT Framework's with their port got ported.

Honestly, beyond this remake the only thing I want from Capcom at this point is the SourceNext PC ports of the original 2-3. They can even leave it in Japanese on Steam if they want, just put it up for sale. :/

I mean I guess I can YARRR HARR FIDDLE DEE DEE them, but I'd actually like to buy those ports and own 2-3 for the fifth goddamn time. :/

That’s why I love it. It’s like a campier take on RE’s usual b-horror. I’d like to see them try to take it further (except they probably weren’t intentionally trying for this feel in the first place). There’s room for all kinds! Except RE6.

Chris is whatever. Absolutely generic guy until CV and then the dumb Goku version clearly wouldn't have made sense with the new realistic art direction.

They honestly did a great job with everyone in REmake 2.
Claire, Leon, Ada, Irons, Mr.T, Sherry; they all look fantastic and with a strong personality (as far as their face goes).
RE7's characters look weird by comparison, so it's probably just familiarity with their own scan tech.

The thing about Jill is, her face at this point is very tied to Voth's, and wasn't just random 3d girl like Claire was, so it's harder to imagine her with another face.
I think the same could be said for Sheva and Chris though (5's chris was stiill a buff but similar looking version of REmake Chris), so it's all about choosing a good face that fits the character and then giving it time to get used to it.

I mean if I wanted to, I can play a perfectly fine looking and sounding remastered edition of the game. I mean if anything they could have put more effort into that.

My point was really that I honestly I'm not too into remakes of PS2+gen games. To me, thats the generation where the games look great and cleaned up 1080p/4k and 60fps remasters are perfectly fine.  Like yeah I'd love a actual remake of MGS3, but give me a current gen 4k version and I'd also be happy.

I mean I'd still buy, play, and probably like a CV Remake.

But I really don't want them to get bogged down in remaking RE games or games in general. Give me new things.

Sure, but changing face from 1->3 (Epilogue)->5-6 to 7's is just weird. He pulled an Ubisoft Shawn and Rebecca: His face changing through the entire series.

Jill gets somewhat similar: She looks different in 1->3- to where REbirth 1->5->Revelations 1 (sort-of, they made her face fatter, kinda like Claires in Rev2) is consistent with using Voth's "face" (but they messed with her nose in 5 and changed her hair to blonde for whatever godforsaken reason to justify her being captured by Wesker/virus being in her) but you know they'll try to make her look like her 1 version like 7 did with Chris.

Edit: Thinking on it, it's a toss up: I know Voth loves the fact that she's considered Jill by most of the fanbase and enjoys cosplaying Jill (or did, I'm not sure if she still does it) and would probably be down to do another facial scan if Capcom wanted, but the question is: Could they afford her/license her again? And if not, how are they going to keep the REBirth/5?

I mean worst case scenario they'll track down the original FMV opening of Bio1's Jill and maybe scan her to make her consistent with Chris's 7/original 1 and Code Veronica look, but... :/

Fair but they made RE7 and RE2R at the same time so it's not like they haven't proved they can't work on multiple RE projects
